Bourbon lovers, brace yourself: You’re finally getting your very own whiskey-soaked festival. The first Bourbon & Beyond festival is throwing down September 23 and 24 in Louisville, Kentucky—and they’re bringing with them every bourbon brand a whiskey drinker could ever dream of encountering in one place, along with some serious musical and culinary talents.
Brought to you by Danny Wimmer Presents, the fest will pair food from chefs like Tom Colicchio, Carla Hall, Edward Lee, Chris Cosentino and Amanda Freitag with music from artists like Stevie Nicks, Eddie Vedder, Steve Miller Band and Band of Horses. Oh, and there will also be a metric crap ton of bourbon.
Here is the extensive list of distilleries who will be showcased at the fest: Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, Angels Envy, Barton 1792, Jim Beam, Bulleit, Boone County Distilling Company, Four Roses, Maker’s Mark Distillery, MB Roland Distillery, Michter’s Distillery, New Riff, Brown-Forman, Woodford Reserve Distillery, Kentucky Peerless, Rabbit Hole, Smooth Ambler and Limestone Branch Distillery. Yeah. That’s a lot of bourbon. Plus, the who’s who of the bourbon industry will also be there, including folks like Julian P. Van Winkle III of Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery and Trey Zoeller of Jefferson’s Bourbon.
Festival bars like The Big Bourbon Bar will serve bourbon-based cocktails, while The Haymarket Hunter’s Club will offer pours of rare whiskeys, and the Down the Rabbit Hole Speakeasy will dole out craft tipples from the team behind famed NYC speakeasy Death & Co. There will also be distilling, bartending and pairing workshops.
And for those times when you aren’t gulping down bourbon or boogying down to “The Joker,” there will be live cooking demos and panels like a fried chicken demo with Carla Hall, Unfiltered & Uncut with Tom Colicchio, and a chat with some of the most powerful women in the whiskey world.
Still not buying that plane ticket down to Kentucky? Well, there will also be a ton of parties—this is a bourbon fest, after all. Check out the Tiki Barrel Bar, featuring bourbon tiki cocktails made by Jane Danger and Alla Lapuschik. Or the Southern Soul BBQ, with down home eats and Maker’s Mark cocktails. Or the Big Easy Crawfish Boil, where there’ll be dueling crawfish boil recipes, Southern Comfort and a New Orleans DJ.
