Flossie Dickey turned 110 years-old last week. But in an interview with “Good Day Spokane" on her big day, the centenarian was not at all enthused about the celebration. In fact, she'd rather take a nap.
When asked if she was excited about her birthday party, Dickey, who was born on February 18, 1906, was not afraid to tell it like it is, saying, "Not one bit." While slowly sipping from a mug of coffee, she goes on to explain her love for resting and not being interviewed on TV, saying, "I take a nap as many times as I can." But in true badass fashion, she simply refuses to answer some of the questions from the reporter, probably because she's been answering questions for more than 100 years now, and because she can.
According to one of her caregivers, Dickey is a known "jokester" at the Cheney Care Center and one of her favorite things is to "sit down and have some whisky, straight up.” Basically, she's a damn hero.
As for her secret to living a long life, Dickey kept it simple: "I don’t know, I don’t fight it. I live it.”
