You love your iPhone 6s -- so much that you're constantly running out of battery. But you're such an Apple purist that you'd never so much as plug your baby into a third-party power block, let alone buy a third-party battery case.
Well, never fear: Apple is here to save your phone's life, if you're willing to fork over more cash.
As of today, Apple is selling what it calls the iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case -- what common tech folks would refer to as a Mophie, but what Apple can't call it, because that's a registered trademark by a different company. But the aptly named case does just what it sounds like -- it answers questions about batteries. Oh, no, wait, it actually charges your battery through an accessory case. Let Apple explain:
"Charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously for increased talk time up to 25 hours, Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, and even longer audio and video playback."
Wow! I think I should be saying wow. Right? While it's not the newest, cheapest, or most powerful battery case on the market, as Fortune points out, the Smart Battery case is retailing at a competitive price point, as Mophie's 2750 mAH Juice Pack Air sells for $99.95.
In any case (get it?), it's a pretty cool thing, and probably even a great Christmas/Hanukkah gift (shalom!), but not everybody is so pumped about the new product -- specifically, design geeks.
