Enjoying a deep-fried Twinkie typically involves either subjecting yourself to your local state fair or busting out the deep frying equipment and making a mess in your kitchen. While both methods are probably worth it, it turns out you'll soon be able to eat the fairground staple with the same laziness and convenience of the junk food at its core -- right out of a box

That's right: Hostess is launching a pre-packaged version of deep-friend Twinkies that you can easily eat in the privacy of your home. Boxes of the new Twinkies will first become available at Walmart stores "in a few months," and will start hitting other stores shelves "a few months following that," a Hostess spokesperson said via email.

The new Twinkies were first spotted by Associated Press retail reporter Anne D'Innocenzio:

So far, it's unclear exactly how you'll end up heating or preparing the Twinkies, but as seen in the image above, the packaging suggests popping them in your microwave or oven.

Of course, if you really want to try replicating the state fair fried food experience, it looks like you'll have to provide your own skewer sticks, powdered sugar topping, and dipping sauces. But if you're going to that much trouble, you should probably break down and actually deep fry your own damn Twinkies. And at that point, well, they might as well be bourbon-soaked ones.
