Starbucks Frappuccinos have long blurred the line between coffee and dessert (that's why you love them, right?). And when it comes to marrying caffeine with sweet toppings and sauces, the coffee giant's latest offering is certainly no exception: the Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino.
Starbucks says the new blended beverage, which lands in stores across the US and Canada on Tuesday, May 3rd, is meant to evoke "summertime memories" of your local ice cream parlor. Although it's not exactly ice cream, the drink is made with waffle cone syrup and dark caramel sauce that's blended with coffee, milk, and ice. Then it's topped with whipped cream, more dark caramel sauce, and freaking waffle cone pieces. Basically, you might need a spoon.
The dessert in a cup will be available throughout the summer along with the S'mores Frappuccino we told you about a few weeks ago (while supplies last). But that's not all Starbucks has up its non-existent green apron sleeves.
In addition to the launch of the new drink, Tuesday also marks the return of Starbucks' Frappuccino Happy Hour. This means you can get half-priced Frappuccinos from 3pm to 5pm every day through May 15th. Starbucks Rewards members, however, get the deal for an extra hour -- until 6pm -- when paying with a registered Starbucks card. It's perhaps the only alcohol-free happy hour worth caring about.
If you listen closely, you can already hear the nation's collective straw slurping sounds.
