The offer for a free copy of Grand Theft Auto V has barely wrapped up, and Epic Games is already offering another hugely popular game for free.
Starting Thursday, May 21, gamers can hit the Epic Games Store to grab a free copy of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. The freebie will be available until 11am EST on May 28. If you get it before the offer expires, it is yours to keep forever. This giveaway, like the GTAV offer, is for the PC version of the game only.
When Epic announced it'd be doling out Grand Theft Auto V for free, the game's popularity crashed the Epic Games Store for hours, per The Verge. So, they're not just offering a little something you might give a try. There have been hugely popular games that got a strong reaction.
Civilization VI is the latest release of the turn-based strategy game series. The series dates back to 1991. This version was released in 2016, but it's still getting new content added to the game, with a new season pass added this year, according to Polygon. The giveaways are part of the Epic Games "Mega Sale" that's happening right now. That includes some pretty steep discounts on popular releases like Red Dead Redemption II (20% off) and The Witcher: Wild Hunt (70% off).
