Back in junior high, you likely had to take a quiz on the female reproductive system -- arguably tougher to remember than the periodic table, and with way less molybdenum. Unfortunately, that's about as far as many people's knowledge of ladybits goes, proven over and over again by misconceptions about women's body parts and their functions. Take the hymen, for example, which many believe is an indicator of virginity, only broken upon the loss of a V-card.

Well, the folks at CollegeHumor are out to not just make you laugh today, but to break the misinformed contents of your meninges (your brain) when it comes to hymen knowledge.

This video is one of the most straightforward CollegeHumor has ever produced -- and they should be commended for it. As the video points out, the incorrect belief in the infallibility of the hymen has led to women being denied jobs, prevented from making rape accusations, and even thrown in jail. It also led to the creation of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies.

Basically, the hymen isn't some magical membrane that can be used to prove much of anything, aside from a woman having a vagina. Some break from sex, some break from gymnastics, and some don't break at all.

Which is kinda like molybdenum, a very tough metal to break, even at high temperatures.
