Based on the beverage alone, the idea of a video centered around Flamin' Hot Cheetos-infused tequila sounds promising. People love Flamin' Hot Cheetos. People love tequila shots. Combine the two in a mason jar? Spicy agave bliss.
But somewhere along the way, the people at Tipsy Bartender really made this whole experience weird. While Flamin' Hot Cheetos and tequila go together like Milli and Vanilli, the two hosts in this video, Skyy John and Inna, have the chemistry of Fleetwood Mac during Tango in the Night.
Skyy is the brains behind Tipsy Bartender, leading the way with his goofy antics and Bahamian accent. Inna is a hot Russian girl who synchronizes hip shakes with mason jar shakes for the camera. With their powers combined, you get a 3-minute video that's nearly as perplexing as the drink is simple. In some ways, Skyy's singing and outbursts kinda remind you of Titus Andromedon from "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" if Tina Fey had downed an entire bag's worth of Flamin' Hot Cheetos tequila before writing a script. Inna, on the other hand, certainly does sound Russian. And she has nice abs.
Their interactions are best summed up here:
Yes, that's a solid 3.5 seconds of Skyy John left hanging for a high five, punctuated by Inna clutching her throat.
Now, to be fair, you need only Flamin' Hot Cheetos, tequila, a mason jar, and lime slices to make this drink happen at home. But you will never be able to bottle the magic in this video.
Is the Flamin' Hot Cheetos tequila shots video the best 3 minutes of your life? I pray not. But will you leave here with a simple, delicious drink idea, an eyebrow raised, and the impetus to down a Flamin' Hot Cheetos tequila shot? Likely.
