The New iPhone Will Be Made Entirely of Glass

Every time you drop your iPhone you probably have a mini panic attack about that screen cracking. Well, now you'll have to worry about the whole phone cracking because the new iPhone will be all glass.

According to the Forbes report, a "major Apple supplier" confirmed that Apple's iPhone 8 will have a glass casing. Yes, you read that right, the iPhone 8. Apparently people are already talking about the 8, which won't be released till 2017. But come 2017, the iPhone will adopt this shiny new design for its 10th anniversary.

Although the rumored concept design looks pretty cool, the durability of the iPhone 8 could be an issue. Cult of Mac is doubtful that the new concept will be just as strong as the aluminum, pointing to a drop test between the iPhone 6S and glass Galaxy S7. In the PhoneBuff drop test video referenced by Cult of Mac, which you can watch below, the iPhone 6S was able to withstand a lot more intensive dropping than its competitor, which seemingly proves that aluminum is better.

That drop from pocket to pavement just got so much more painful.
