Gordon Ramsay, the famed chef and apparent Bobby Flay hunter, wants to help you become a better cook. And while his tutelage typically involves a literal trial by fire and tons of, uh, motivational chats in his reality show kitchens, now you can pick up some of the chef's greatest cooking tips in the relative safety of your own kitchen -- via YouTube.
Following recent videos demonstrating how to master basic cooking skills, "surprisingly useful" cooking tips, and even his secret to cooking the perfect steak, the notoriously shouty chef has released a new tutorial that helpfully breaks down all the "essential" cooking tools you need in your kitchen. From sauce pans to knives to digital food scales, Ramsay explains what to look for when purchasing these things and, most importantly, why you need them. He even makes a damn good case for owning a mortar and pestle.
At this rate, you'll be cooking like you're in one of Ramsay's kitchens in no time. You know, minus all the expletives and meltdowns.
