What is the sound of a nation's collective nostalgia? How does it smell? What does it taste like? Probably pretty similar to the contents of a box Ecto Cooler.
That's right: the green drink is coming back.
Originally debuting in 1987 to promote the ill-fated Ghostbusters cartoon spinoff, the aptly-titled The Real Ghostbusters, Ecto Coolers featured a slobberin' green Slimer on the package and tasted as if a bunch of oranges fell into an industrial-sized tank of sugar. In 2001, Hi-C re-named the drink Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen, before ultimately deciding to pull the product from shelves in 2007.
After some good ol' fashioned Internet snooping, a Ghostbusters fan page found a patent filed by Coca-Cola (owners of Hi-C) renewing the Ecto Cooler trademark. With the new Ghostbusters movie set to premier July 22, 2016, the timing seems pretty convenient on Coca-Cola's part to re-vamp the drink. It looks as if we're close to getting part of our childhood back.

When will the iconic 90s drink be back in our hands? We'll have to wait for news from Coca-Cola... and if they don't answer our pleas for that sweet ecto goodness, they'll have an all-out riot on their hands.
