Even with an OtterBox, shit happens to iPhones. For instance, you could drop that iPhone face down and end with it resembling a Byzantine mosaic. But if you do end up cracking that screen, Apple is going to make it all better. Well, at least, they're going to give you money, which usually makes things better.

According to a report in 9to5 Mac, Apple is revamping its trade-in program, offering credit for iPhones with cracked screens. The new program is supposed to start this week, and it sure beats the previous offer of nothing for phones with cracked displays, broken cameras, or broken buttons. Now, you'll get something for phones with any of those defects.

This update, however, includes only Phone 5s or iPhone 6. They're not taking anything broken and older. Sorry, people with old-ass phones. According to the report, which cites unnamed sources, the going rates are as follows:

iPhone 5S: $50

iPhone 6: $200

iPhone 6 Plus: $250

The idea here is that this is a win/win for both the customer and the company, with Apple banking on this encouraging iPhone users to buy new phones. Meanwhile, the customers feel like they're getting something back, when really they're going to end up giving Apple more money.

So, yay?
