'Jeopardy!' Contestant's Hilariously Wrong Answer to Beyoncé/Jay-Z Question Is Hard to Watch

There's no question that having a command of core academic subjects is a huge part of being a successful Jeopardy! contestant. However, it's equally important to have at least a handle on contemporary pop culture and the like. Case in point: this contestant who buzzed in with what may be the most hilariously wrong answer to a Beyoncé/Jay-Z question imaginable.

During Thursday night's episode of the long-running trivia game, a contestant named Jessica buzzed in first to respond to the answer "Beyonce & Jay-Z released the album 'Everything Is Love' under this collective name." Unfortunately, it seems she could have used a bit of a crash course in recent Bey and Jay discography before the taping, because she chimed in confidently and quickly with the very wrong but still very funny guess of "What is Bey-Z?"

The correct response is, of course, The Carters.

Although the comically incorrect response didn't appear to elicit any chuckles from the crowd, you can almost sense a cringe from host Alex Trebek when the camera cuts back to him to reveal the correct response. To be fair to Jessica though, neither of her opponents chimed in with the right answer, either.

But, hey, at least it only cost her $800, and she didn't swear
