Some Dude Legally Changed His Name to Bacon Double Cheeseburger

"The name's Cheeseburger, Bacon Double Cheeseburger." Believe it or not, that's exactly what a London man is able to say and prove it, now that he's legally changed his name to reflect his love for the meaty, greasy food.

As reported by The Times, the 33-year-old man was formerly known by the significantly less appetizing name of Simon Smith. Mr. Cheeseburger (we hope that's what he goes by now) is just one of a record 85,000 people who changed their names in the UK last year. Apparently, the new name was inspired by the popular Burger King menu item and further fueled by lots of drinking with friends.

"It was the culmination of probably too many drinks in the pub where there was a conversation about names," Cheeseburger told the Evening Standard. "Bacon Double Cheeseburger was pretty much the first thing that came up. Everyone loves bacon don’t they? It was largely the most ridiculous thing we could think of. My friends were quite supportive of anything that makes me look silly, as good friends are."

While his friends and even his dad got a kick out of the new name, Cheeseburger told the paper his mom and fiancée are less than thrilled, with the latter understandably suggesting another name change might be needed before their wedding. But who wouldn't want to be known as Mr. and Mrs. Cheeseburger?

Among the many other crazy name changes seen last year, another couple had the right idea and changed their names to Mr. and Mrs. Amazing, according to the Times report. For that, these people are basically heroes.
