Microsoft Wants to Pay You $300 for Your Old Mac

If you feel your fandom for Apple waning with every minor release, letter addition, and upgrade, then you may want to consider switching to Microsoft. A recent DailyDot article reported that Microsoft is offering $300 for your old Macs. $300!

In an attempt to "spur new computer purchases and drive up Windows 10 adoption rates," the company's "Trade Up" program is offering a $200 voucher for your old Windows computer and $300 for your Macs. While the voucher sadly cannot be applied to the Windows Surface, it's worth noting that most of the Windows PC models start at $599. Now, I ain't no mathematician, but that means you could get a new computer for only $299 [Ed. note: if you trade a Mac in for $300]!

Additionally, you can't just trade in your 1997 Gateway PC. Per the offer's terms, your device must be a "working, complete and undamaged Laptop, or Macbook up to six years old" with a minimum 11” display, a working battery, and power supply.

As the DailyDot puts it, this deal isn't by any means fire, as you can get actual cash money through eBay or Craigslist -- but it's a deal to consider if you're gunning for a Windows machine. Move fast, though, you've got to use your voucher before October 20!
