These Mrs. Doubtfire Deleted Scenes Will Leave You Tearing Up

Sure, at its core Mrs. Doubtfire is about a family dealing with the turmoil of divorce, but you mostly just remember Robin Williams in floral dresses and literal cake makeup. These deleted scenes, however, tell a much more different story.

A video published by The Native Eagle claims to show a few deleted scenes from the 90s drama/comedy Mrs. Doubtfire. All three scenes show the effects of the parents' bitter divorce on the kids, but to be fair, it does complicate things when dad is dressing up as an old woman and entering the house without mom's knowledge.

The first scene features Robin Williams showing up late to his daughter's spelling bee. He proceeds to get in a fight with mom because she didn't save him a seat, which causes his daughter to misspell a word. The second scene continues this storyline, and you get Williams' tearful apology to his daughter. He says some sad words about how they aren't going to be a normal family but he'll always be her father. Oh and it gets even worse in scene three when mom and dad have a confrontation after the whole "You snuck into my house and pretended to be the maid" thing blows up. That scene ends with their daughter yelling, "I hate you both."

Seriously, it's a real downer, and makes you consider how skillful editing can change an entire movie. Watch with tissues on hand.
