Good news for those who binge watch on the go, Netflix is seriously stepping up its mobile game, making it easier to keep that House of Cards marathon going forever. Well, or at least until you finish the latest season.
A report from the Mobile World Congress published by Business Insider states that a newly released version of the iOS app makes watching Netflix on iPhone and iPad way easier. In addition, the report states that more mobile updates are coming later this year.
The iOS update has a "more fluid" design that should make browsing easier and images download faster. Also, now the Netflix app will auto-play the next episode after you finish a program, which no doubt will make it really hard to step away from the phone and get work done. But, if you're already set on watching Netflix all day, you don't even have to push play to keep going. Finally, new "3D touch" allows you to see a synopsis of a TV show or movie without going to a separate page. Chris Jaffe, vice president of product innovation at Netflix, said that these updates are "just to make things really, really stupid simple."
Additional updates planned for later in the year include data-saving preferences and an option to use your mobile device or tablet as a second screen. Both pretty helpful features, but there's no exact release date on those yet.
All in all, this means more binge watching more of the time.
