These New 'Ghostbusters' Twinkies Come Filled with Slime
With the theatrical release of the new Ghostbusters movie just over a month away, Hostess has unleashed limited-edition Twinkies to celebrate the much-anticipate reboot. And while the new Twinkies aren't "35 feet long, weighing approximately 600lbs," Dr. Spengler, they are filled with green "slime" reminiscent of good ol' Slimer.
The limited-edition Twinkies started creeping onto store shelves nationwide late last week, according to press release. The aforementioned "slime" is actually key lime-flavored filling, which could very well be the weirdest thing Hostess has piped into Twinkies since the bizarre pumpkin spice flavor it released last fall. So far, it's unclear if you'll instantly get slimed after eating one. Poor Venkman.
Single-serve packages of the new Twinkies feature the iconic “No Ghost” sign, which is almost too perfect. Here's what the slime looks like in real life:
Of course, we had to include the Twinkie scene from the original Ghostbusters movie, so enjoy:
