Just when you thought the perfect storm of Pokémon Go, Ghostbusters, and Crystal Pepsi had already transported you back in time by a few decades, Nintendo recently announced it is resurrecting the original NES gaming console -- in an all-new miniature form -- later this year. And on Thursday, the company released a commercial for the new system, and well, it's retro as hell.
The ad features a powerful nostalgia-inducing mixture of old school gaming sounds, insanely gaudy typefaces and colors, and futuristic-looking grids and effects. At the end, a voice dramatically says, "Now you're playing with power!" which basically seals the deal. Officially dubbed the NES Classic Edition, the system comes with 30 classic Nintendo games baked in and hits stores shelves in November 11th.
Just imagine how many additional throwback products will be released or announced in the meantime. At least the Pokémon Go craze will probably die down by then. Just kidding.
