You really get a sense of just how painstaking it is to make a film when you hear that more than 1,000 hours of footage gets crammed into just two minutes and twenty seconds of video. That breaks down to approximately seven hours of footage to capture just one second of video, and that's exactly what it took to make this amazing timelapse.

This video, aptly titled "Patience" by filmmaker Paul Richardson, also used 300,000 images from all around Europe. To get a sense of the work that went into it, read this detail from Richardson:

"For example, the milkyway shot at 1:23 was the result of a four day shoot chasing the milkway in Wales. I stayed up every night, driving around trying to find clear patches in the night sky. But in four days all I managed to capture was a sequence of 50 images."

Clearly, you should watch this video, if only to make this guy's efforts worth something. Oh, and also, it's pretty mesmerizing.
