Wait, Why Is Pornhub Offering College Scholarships?

You know what they say: an hour of porn a day keeps you healthy, wealthy, and wise. Uh, what, no one says that? Well, at least from now until October 31st, Pornhub is offering you a chance for lasting stimulation and higher education via a one-time $25,000 college scholarship.

The first ever annual Pornhub Cares program is open to all 18-year-old, full-time students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution. If you want the opportunity to say "Butt stuff and BDSM are paying for my double degree in Italian and comparative literature," simply submit a 1,000-1,500-word essay answering the question, “How do you strive to make others happy?” along with a 2-5-minute video elaborating on the text. Wait, so there's technically no sex stuff involved? That kind of makes it even weirder.

In a statement, posted on the obviously NSFW hub of porn, the site's Vice President Corey Price said, “Pornhub takes immense satisfaction in providing happiness for millions of people around the world each and every day. Consequently, we want to support the recipient of our ‘Pornhub Cares Scholarship’ to realize their goal of doing the same," proving the site's good intentions -- because let's be real, we were all kind of holding our breath on this one.

"Our scholarship will provide a worthy applicant the opportunity to pursue their educational passions and relieve some of the financial burden of paying for college. This year’s recipient will possess leadership, ingenuity and creativity; all qualities we especially value here at Pornhub and ones that have allowed us continued success with our global audience."

Perhaps in a bid to attract more educated types to its site, the program requires all applicants to have at least a 3.2 GPA. So if you don't qualify this year, perhaps it's time to experiment with some book stuff, too.
