Shake Shack Revealed its Cheese Sauce Recipe, So You Can Make Cheese Fries at Home
Perfect pairing for those Goldbelly ShackBurger kits.
You might not have a Shake Shack location in your quarantine zip code, but the fast casual burger joint knows better than to let our cravings go unfulfilled -- especially in times of crisis.
As part of its new social media cooking series Shake Shack at Your Shack, culinary director Mark Rosati revealed the chain's classic cheese sauce recipe, so you can douse your fries, burgers, or whatever else calls for the gooey American/cheddar concoction. The stay-at-home social media series, which will continue to air on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, will feature step-by-step recipe instructions from both Rosati and executive chef John Karangis.
Shake Shack cheese sauce recipe:
- 2 cups of American cheese
- 2 cups of cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp of canola oil
- 1 tbsp of white wine vinegar
- 6 thin slices of jalapeños
- 3/4 cups of sliced onions
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 2 tsp of peppercorns
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 2 tsp of white wine
Of course, cheese fries are nothing without a burger to go with them. In March, Shake Shack partnered with Goldbelly to deliver ShackBurgers no matter where you're sheltering in place. The DIY meal kits are packed with the chain's 100% Angus beef blend (perfected by Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors), American cheese, and Shack sauce. And here's the best part: they're shipping nationwide.
