Every pet owner (or pet petter) knows their furry, feathered or scaled friend is the smartest animal on the block. (Or sometimes owners are at the other end of the spectrum and think their pet is a slow-witted meat bag, but this isn't about them.) If you're that kind of pet owner with friends who love to be regaled with stories of your genius feline, this Reddit thread is for you.
Reddit user OvertOperation went to Ask Reddit to ask "What's the most creepily intelligent thing your pet has ever done?" In less than 24 hours, the thread had nearly 10,000 replies and more than 31,000 upvotes. The stories range from acts of mild heroism to stubborn displays of intelligence from pets that refuse to obey the rules.
And, of course, there are a couple responses peppered in there that showcase the truly ridiculous things pets do.
Here are a few of the best responses so far.
