Although the official start of summer is still a couple weeks away, it's more than safe to say the season of slurping giant cups of blended coffee drinks is already well underway. With that said, Starbucks has unleashed yet another new addition to its seasonal Frappuccino lineup, and it's loaded with chocolate.
Starbucks bills the new drink, the Double Double Fudge Bar Frappuccino, as its own take on "a quintessential and cool summer treat," which -- based on the drink's name -- we're assuming is the classic Fudgsicle. Specifically, the new drink is made with a "double dose" of mocha sauce that's combined with vanilla syrup, coffee, milk, and ice, then blended and topped with chocolate whipped cream.
The borderline dessert in a cup will be available at participating locations in the US and Canada for the next "few weeks," according to a press release. Speaking of dessert in a cup, Starbucks released the Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino, which comes loaded with caramel sauce and waffle cone pieces, early last month. And with the company's recent move into Nitro Cold Brew coffee, who knows what they've got up their non-existent green apron sleeves for the rest of summer.
