With a massive heat wave set to fry much of the country this week, the idea of sipping a giant iced coffee or tea has, well, never sounded better. And now, Starbucks is providing another reason to pick up the iced beverages besides the stupidly hot temperatures by promising free drinks via its all-new "Sampler" loyalty card.
Here's the deal: Grab one of the promotional cards at your local Starbucks, and they'll give you a free grande iced coffee or tea after you purchase five of the drinks. Starbucks claims all you have to do is ask your barista for one of the free Sampler cards (at participating locations), and every time you buy a grande iced coffee or tea, you'll get a sticker towards earning one for free, according to a report by Brand Eating. Specifically, once you have five stickers, you can hand over the card for the free drink. The deal is good through August 8th.
Starbucks appears to have quietly announced the promotion on Twitter:

Of course, the payoff might not be worth going out of your way to buy iced coffee or tea, but if that's what you already order on a regular basis, earning a free drink in the process seems like a no-brainer. Especially seeing as the company hiked prices again last week.
