The 25 Best Jobs in America for 2016

Unless you've already found your dream job (good for you!) at a highly rated company, there's a good chance you're among the throngs of people searching for a new job this year. In fact, now is perhaps the perfect time to scan job listing and networking sites, seeing as 45% of people said they are planning to score a new gig in 2016, according to a recent survey by Glassdoor. And to help, or just make you feel awful about your career and education choices so far, the popular jobs and recruiting site has released a list of the 25 best jobs in America in 2016.

As you may have already guessed, the nation's best jobs are in areas like finance, technology, and medicine, with the No. 1 best job this year as a Data Scientist, which scored high in all three measurements Glassdoor uses to determine the ranking -- the number of job openings (1,736), the job's median base salary ($116,840), and the job's potential for career opportunities (4.1) -- and received a final score of 4.7. The Data Scientist job was followed by Tax Manager (which also scored 4.7), Solutions Architect (4.6), Engagement Manager (4.6), and Mobile Developer (4.6).

Basically, it's as good a time as any to stop dreaming about ditching your dead-end job and take the time to dust off your ol' LinkedIn profile, networking skills, and resume, if you're not already doing so in a private browsing window while your boss isn't looking.
