The Cheapest Airline In America Will Make You Hate Being Cheap

Sure legroom, in-flight meals, and timeliness are all important, but when deciding between one airline and another, the only thing that really matters is price. In keeping with this logic, travel deal site Fareness.com figured out which airlines are the cheapest most often.

When it comes to America's most popular destinations, Spirit -- yes Spirit --  is the cheapest airline 70% of the time. But since everyone hates Spirit, you might be more interested in the second cheapest airline, Hawaiian, which is cheapest 40% of the time. JetBlue rounds out the top three, with the best prices 29% of the time.

Although Spirit offers the all-around cheapest tickets, It's important to note that when the results were broken down by city, American Airlines was the cheapest in two popular spring break destinations, Cancun and Miami.

Now if you're one of those people who actually does choose your air carrier based on legroom and additional amenities, well then sorry for disturbing you, Your Highness. But then you probably don't care about how much your tickets cost, anyway.
