According to a press release from Ascot Racecourse (man, what a British name!), the seasonal getup was custom-made for Daffy to keep him warm and festive this Christmas. In the lead up to a big race weekend, Ascot is encouraging race-goers to follow Daffy's lead by dressing in their finest holiday garb.
“In winter I always worry about Daffy getting chilly as he likes to spend so much time out of his stable," said animal trainer Jackie Rowberry. "I love the fact that Ascot has created a special foursie for Daffy so that he can get into the Christmas spirit. He’s loved all the attention and is quite the envy among his stable buddies!”
You can't just go out and buy one of these foursies for your Shetland pony, as this one was tailored just for Daffy. But that brings up two bigger questions: why do you own a Shetland pony? And can I come hang out with your Shetland pony?
