When contemplating that "epic road trip" with your bros, insane gas prices are high on the list of cons, along with your growing energy drink intolerance and figuring out what the hell to listen to for a week in a car. Though your heart palpations won't quit, turns out a trip to Michigan could at least save you money on gas.
After crunching the numbers, GasBuddy found that Michigan has the lowest gas prices of any state. So, seeing that "Pure Michigan" landscape by car is actually quite affordable, as gas prices sit just below $1.80 per gallon. Coming in next was Missouri, followed closely by Oklahoma, both boasting gas prices just a tiny bit above $1.80 per gallon.
Some of the highest gas prices can be found in Hawaii, where not everything makes you want to say, "Mahalo," and especially not the over $2.80/gallon gas prices. But, well, pretty much everything but poi costs more there. California also sits at the bottom of the list, with gas prices reaching close to $2.70, extinguishing the last bit of hope from the LA driver. However, gas prices were all-around less expensive than last year, according to the 2014 ranking.
