When it comes to kicking back and smashing family-size platters of snacks on game day, you probably don't think of foods like eggs benedict, jambalaya, and pancakes, because buffalo wings are obviously the football snack food of choice, right? Well, according to a new map tracking game day food choices, people in many states are, in fact, choosing less traditional snacks to help wash down four quarters and a halftime's worth of beer.
In fact, the map (embedded below), shows that only one state in the union -- Massachusetts -- favors buffalo wings over other game day snacks, as nature intended. Meanwhile, it appears that people in several states would rather eat things like burgers, tacos, fried chicken, cheese, and pizza, all of which pair pretty well with football, too. But as we hinted at above, the map also suggests people are eating some, well, interesting foods on game day, such as pumpkin (Utah, Rhode Island), eggs benedict (Montana, Kansas), and even vegan foods (Florida, Nevada, South Dakota), which is especially questionable.
