'Tis the season to detest holiday travel. But for today, at least, let's bask in the sweetness of this United Airlines story.
United took 40 outpatient children from University Hospital and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey on a free trip to the "North Pole" to meet Santa Claus (big Awww). Smiling children boarded North Pole 1 at Newark International Airport for an hour simulated flight to Santa's workshop. In reality, the kids were let out at another gate, but it looked like the North Pole as everyone was greeted by favorite television characters, gifts, and, of course, Santa himself (bigger AWWWWWW).
NJ.com reported that 8-year-old Mosai McDonald, who suffers from sickle cell anemia, called the trip "amazing," adding that he was "going to tell people about Santa and everything." Hey, is it getting dusty in here?
United Airlines has been running the Fantasy Flight program for the last 20 years, and hopefully it never quits. Take a look at some photos of the event below, and start believing in Christmas miracles.
