A group of Italian sailors -- no, heroes -- saved a puppy's life after they found it alone and treading water in the Gulf of Naples late last month. A recent video shows the sailors pulling the pup out of the choppy waters after they somehow managed to call it over and maneuver their boat into position, according to a report by Yahoo! Travel. Once safely onboard, passengers quickly comforted the distressed puppy and wrapped him in a jacket.
“He was visibly exhausted, his legs almost paralyzed by the cold,” said one of the sailors, per the report. “He was shaking and crying.”
Turns out the yellow labrador, named Noodle, had escaped his leash earlier that morning while riding a ferry with his owner, Mario di Meglio, and fell overboard into the Gulf. The ferry operators told di Meglio that Noodle had likely drowned; however, thanks to the heroic sailors, the two were later reunited on shore. But you'd think the dog's owner would have had the same, uh, determination as one Billy Madison.
