Guys, there are steaming hot singles in the area and they are not going to bang you if you keep smiling like that. OK, but seriously, a study published in Evolutionary Psychology reports that smiling makes men more attractive to women as marriage material, as opposed to hook-up material.

In the study conducted by Shenshu University, 218 female university students were asked to rate smiling men as marriage material vs. a boyfriend going on a date. PsyPost reports that the findings of the study showed that "women evaluating men’s attractiveness for marriage rated smiling faces as more attractive than neutral faces, whereas women evaluating men’s attractiveness for a date rated smiling and neutral faces the same."

What does this mean for dudes trying to get their beaks wet? It depends on what you want. The study concluded that the act of "smiling detracts from a man’s appearance of masculinity and maturity, which...[while] smiling makes a man appear more trustworthy, which is an important quality in a long-term mating context." So, if you're interested in a hot night of gooey fun, consider your mate's subconscious and turn your frown, uh, not upside down.

However, if you're looking to get married... try smiling, bro.
