Fittingly known as killer whales, Orcas are some of the sea's beastliest predators, employing an array of tactics to catch and kill their prey. And, apparently, punting seals high into the air is one of them, as seen in a recent video posted on YouTube. The stunning footage taken in near Victoria, British Columbia, shows a whale seemingly attempting to stun a harbor seal with its tail, but ends up flinging the poor creature as high as 80ft in the air. It all happens around the 0:29 mark.
With ferocious hunters like killer whales out there, it's no wonder seals are turning to humans for comfort and snuggles.
