Passenger Catches Airport Workers Playing 'Bag Toss' on Video
OK, so maybe you don't expect your things to be "handled with care," but you at least hope airport employees don't hurl your bags just for their general amusement. They'd never do that, right?
Well, baggage handlers at San Jose International airport were recently caught on video playing a "bag toss" game with luggage. From what it looks like in the footage, the object of the game is to throw an innocent suitcase as far as possible from a designated point on the runway. The last guy throws a black suitcase pretty far, and looks like he's really proud of himself.
Apparently, the workers depicted are from Alaska Airlines, and the airline has since issued an apology. According to Bay Area local news, Alaska said the featured bag didn't belong to a passenger and was filled with magazines. However, the spokesman also added that this should never happen on the runway, no matter the circumstances.
Regardless of where the bags came from, or what they contained, these antics should definitely not be repeated. After all, most people don't trust baggage handlers because they can't see what they're doing. And when they see luggage being tossed around like in some lawn game -- well, now handlers have doused gasoline on that fire.
Watch in horror.
