This Guy Soared Around the Statue of Liberty on a Jetpack Because He Could

While not every one can be the record-breaking jetpack flight formation recently seen over Dubai, rocketing through the air on a freaking jetpack is pretty damn spectacular any way you can do it. And a new YouTube video capturing a dude soaring through the air around the Statue of Liberty is no exception.

As Mashable reports, the video shows pilot David Mayman demonstrating seemingly effortless flight on a JB-9 jetpack, created by the self-described jetpack purists over at Jetpack Aviation. That's right -- jetpack purists. Specifically, the company claims the JB-9 is "the world's only true jetpack," a device it defines as "a jet turbine powered backpack that is capable of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), is extremely light and small and can easily be carried around by the pilot." But call it whatever you want, as long as you include the words "holy crap."
