Watch this Insane Dude Free Climb the Eiffel Tower

Although the lines generally aren't worth the view, that had nothing to do with why daredevil brit James Kingston free climbed the Eiffel Tower. Apparently, he was just ticking off an item from his bucket list.

It's not rare to have a life-long dream of seeing the Eiffel Tower, but this guy's dream was to actually scale the French landmark without support ropes of any kind. Being that death highly correlates with such stupidity, climbing the 1,063 ft. tower is frowned upon. But, no matter to Kingston. He avoided French guards who he described as being dressed "in full camo and carrying massive guns," which isn't out of the norm if you're familiar with Paris's police. The bigger deal was when at one point, the guards spotted him and he was forced to hide inside the tower's framework for hours.

In the end, Kingston escaped both the guards and a death fall, thankfully. His stomach-turning POV shows spectacular views of Paris at sunrise from places almost nobody will ever see. And although it's not shown in the video, Kingston was eventually arrested, detained, but not charged. He just had to promise to "not climb the Eiffel Tower again for three years." Buuuuuutt they didn't say anything about other French landmarks. That just sounds like good ol' French taunting to push this dude to test the spire of Notre Dame.
