A British TV reporter had, well, a whale of time during a recent live TV broadcast. In fact, he freaked the hell out.
Steve Backshall was in the middle of interviewing a whale expert in Moss Landing, California for "Big Blue Live" on the BBC, when suddenly, his team informed him that they had spotted a blue whale from a helicopter above, according to a report by the Huffington Post. This is when he loses his shit -- cuts off the whale expert's comments and deep dives into news of the whale. Dare we say he went a little overboard?
"I'm so, so sorry," he said. "I don't believe what I've just heard. I've heard word that we have on our helicopter -- a BLUE WHALE!"
Backshall's tidal wave of sheer enthusiasm about the whale continues for a good two minutes, and like the blue whale, it's a wonder to behold.
