Days after teasing new stock of Nintendo's NES Classic Edition, Amazon launched a surprise flash sale for the device in select cities on Wednesday. Now, just 24 hours later, the online retail giant is selling even more of the nostalgia-inducing game consoles in five additional cities.

The company said Amazon Prime Now members in New York, Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio can order the NES Classic Edition with free two-hour delivery while supplies last on Thursday. It's unclear how many of the gaming systems Amazon is making available as part of the sale, but chances are it's not many. So, uh, you might want to get on that ASAP.

That appears to be all for now, although Amazon might have a few more tricks up its sleeves. Pending another flash sale from the company in the coming days, your next best shot at getting your Donkey Kong-playing hands on one is in-store at Best Buy on December 20th. Of course, other retailers can launch their own flash sales ahead of the holidays, too, like Urban Outfitters and Walmart have in recent weeks.

The $60 gaming system, which comes preprogrammed with 30 classic Nintendo games, has been tragically sold out since it first launched on November 11th, although third-party resellers are selling them for hundreds of dollars. Ultimately, if you can't play Super Mario Bros. on an NES Classic Edition over the holidays, at least you can play Super Mario Run on your iPhone or iPad starting today.
