Would You Pay $10 to Not See Ads on YouTube?

Is it worth paying a little extra, just do avoid life's little inconveniences? Like TSA pre-check, Spotify Premium, or tipping the barber to be absolutely certain he doesn't nick your ear-lobe (trust me -- don't forget this), YouTube is now offering binge-streamers the chance to forgo all ads -- plus access to some premium content and other perks -- all for the semi-reasonable price of $9.99 per month.

Youtube Red (a moniker that sounds weirdly similar to a very well known porn site that I definitely don't know anything about) is the freshly announced premium subscription service from the Internet's grandest, mostly free video site. And it's not just about avoiding that stupid-ass "Lamborghini in my garage" guy. The service will also offer options to save videos offline, exclusive premium content (meaning those generally annoying "YouTube celebs," I'm assuming), and the ability to play videos in the background on your phone/tablet while using other apps. You'll also snag a subscription to Google Play Music, essentially giving you two streaming service for the (standard) price of one.

The service is launching on October 28th, but if you want to see it in action now, you can watch this brief hype video, ironically hosted by Vimeo (just kidding).
