Gone are the days of running to the fridge during commercial breaks to grab a fresh brewski—at least they will be soon, thanks to the enterprising creators of the new Sobro “smart” coffee table.
Unlike traditional “dumb” coffee tables, the Sobro includes everything from Bluetooth speakers and touch control, to super convenient USB ports and outlets. But its crowning feature is the built-in refrigerated drawer. Not only can it store bottles and cans, but it also keeps them ice cold. The project, which is still raising money on Indiegogo, easily surpassed its goal of $50,000 and is inching closer to bringing in a cool $1 million.
The feat in home technology comes from the same team that brought the world PancakeBot, an at-home pancake printer. Once it hits the market, the coffee table will cost a hefty $1,500 and will be available in three colors: white, black and wood. But if you donate to the Indiegogo campaign before it closes (which is in a month), you can snag your own Sobro for a mere $649—a serious steal.
Though we suspect the tempered glass top will probably be a nightmare to keep squeaky clean, it’s a small price to pay for having your brews within reach at all times.
