When a big brand tries to jump on a trend, that trend usually dies a quick death. Sorry Olive Garden, breadsticks aren’t BAE. But that is not always the case, like with Taco Bell’s new frosé, for example.Taco Bell will soon be serving its frozen rosé take, a rosé wine and berry flavored frozen drink called the Berry Frosé Twisted Freeze, at select Cantina locations.
Taco Bell describes the drink as “a tasty, strawberry-forward, easy-to-sip summer treat” that’s as “refreshing as it is fabulous,” according to Thrillist. It’s made with two ounces of Charles & Charles rosé that’s blended into a strawberry slushie (which is sold on its own as Berry Twisted Freeze for non drinkers). It’s not as strong as the frosé you can make at home or that you get at one of the many bars serving up frosé this summer, but it’s the only frosé maker that you can order a Doritos Locos taco at.
As of now, Berry Frosé Twisted Freeze is only available in two Cantina locations: one in Chicago and one in Newport Beach, California. But T Bell’s plans to build 300 of the alcohol-serving Cantinas in upcoming years. They’ve already conquered the fast-food wedding corner and fast food speakeasy market. A rose-tinted Taco Bell future could be next.
