The highly curated selection of beer and wine at Whole Foods can now be delivered to your doorstep in two hours or less. Amazon announced today that Prime members can order free delivery from their local Whole Foods via the Amazon Prime Now app and website, alcohol included.
As of February 8, Amazon Prime members in Virginia Beach, Cincinnati, Dallas and Austin can utilize the service, with more cities to come later in 2018. Any orders over $35 are free, but if you’re really in a rush, you can pay $7.99 for a one-hour delivery. It turns out Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods is giving us more than just cheap avocados and New York strip steak.
“We’re happy to bring our customers the convenience of free two-hour delivery through Prime Now and access to thousands of natural and organic groceries and locally sourced favorites,” John Mackey, Whole Foods Market co-founder and CEO, said in a press release. “Together, we have already lowered prices on many items, and this offering makes Prime customers’ lives even easier.”
The alcohol choices are limited by location, and rather than give specifics, the press release states there will be “select alcohol” available depending on where you are. Not a beer or wine person? This is still good news, because Whole Foods offers a range of affordable ingredients to stock your bar. Never again will you need to put on pants to get organic cream for your White Russian.
