The cache of vintage can counteract any level of nerdliness -- if that weren't true, then why are you wearing a Yes concert tee? Give your bike the treatment, at Landmark Bicycles.
Run by a cycle-obsessed former cinematographer, LB's an East Village shop packed w/ old-school bikes, handpicked by the owner from a stash of 200 additional mounts warehoused out on Strong Island. Retail-wise, LB's specialty is American and Euro peddlers from the 40s to the early 80s, from a 1962 3-speed Gazelle, to a 1971 3-speed Columbia Tourist, to a 1980 10-speed Schwinn Varsity so fetching, Dana Carvey will pelvic thrust and say "Schwinn!" every time you ride by his gig at the Laugh Factory. They'll also repair w/ hard-to-find parts, and offer hour and day rentals for solo and tandem models -- the latter of which possibly resolving who really puts more effort into your relationship.
For your patronage, LB'll hook you up w/ a complimentary slushie w/ every purchase or rental -- putting the coolness of your purchase to the test as you wobble down the street with your lips stained red.
