You never know who's got a surprising alter-ego -- whether it's a reporter who's secretly Superman, or a school janitor who's secretly not a child molester. For gourmet excellence from people you'd never suspect: Peerless Platters Supper Club
A sporadic culinary cabal held in an undisclosed Williamsburg location, Peerless was founded by two industry outliers -- a photographer/ amateur food critic, and an aspiring mixologist consigned to a day-job as a PBR jockey. The goal's to host small gatherings serviced by top restaurant talent, e.g., a Milk & Honey cocktail consultant, and a chef from Alain Ducasse/Eleven Madison Park -- together, they form a Justice League of Covert Dining.
Their four-course meals change each event, with the next featuring Butternut Squash Veloute and Braised Beef Shortrib -- a delicious respite from what's already threatening to become "Taco-vember"
Dinners are scheduled "whenever we can" and are limited to 25 first-come-first-serve guests -- so put down that mop, and sign up now.
