Sports bars may be total dude-paradises, but they've always been lacking one thing: chocolatinis that really taste like Ghirardelli. Oh wait, that's not it. Video games. Get plenty of the latter at Sporting House Bar & Grill. Taking over the defunct ESPN Zone, two-story SH is a sports bar on very detectable steroids, boasting 130 HDs, two 16ft HD screens with stadium seating, and a 10,000sqft arcade with over 30 games including free throw shooting stands, mini bowling, air hockey, and NFL Blitz 2000, the second place you can watch Ray Lewis kill someone, after a limo. The good ol' fashioned bar-food menu's a beast, with apps like loaded cheese fries with chilli & bacon, and buffalo fried shrimp, entrees including the Maine Lobster Club Wrap and a Wagyu Kobe Flat Iron w/ garlic mashed potatoes, plus a full selection of sides focusing on fries, from Parmesan & herb, to the smoked paprikia/tomato/aioli-drenched "Spanish style", so good luck trying to eat them between the hours of 2 and 5pm. The bar's got eleven beers on tap (Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale to Red Hook Longhammer), as well specialty drinks like the TSH All Star (LI Iced Tea w/ Blue Curacao & grenadine), the Double Header (1800 Reposado, 1800 Anejo, Grand Marnier, Cointreau, sour mix), and the vodka/Pama Pomegranate/cranberry juice SKYY Hook, which's also available at the Kareem Adbul
Jabbar. SH also has three private screening rooms lined with couches/tables, framed jerseys/other sports memorabilia, your own TVs/sound system, and WiFi, so you can access the other thing sports bars have always been lacking: videos involving things that aren't the least bit 'tini.
