You're not against art -- it never fondled you or anything -- but it's tough to find time to hit a gallery/museum just to gaze intently at it. Bring it into your everyday life, with Jeremy Fish, arriving this week at Upper Playground
Fish is a North Beach artist whose previous collaborations with Nike and Aesop have garnered him the cred to apply his cartooney, cuddly-macabre aesthetic to cutting-edge media...like apparel and housewares. The Goods:
The Horny Sheriff hoodie: A full-zip, pocketed joint embroidered with skulls & wings, and a cowboy-hatted revolver on the left breast -- where your star'd be, if your difficulty growing a bushy 'stache didn't disqualify you from law enforcement
The Beer Mug: This 16oz mug's graphic is a...beer mug, foaming into a dopey walrus face, lest you forget what the glass is intended for, or the lethargic, bucktoothed fatso you become after drinking it
The "SuperFISHal" belt buckle: Incorporating a bunny, a skull, and a pair of open hands, it's the most useful sort of art -- the kind that holds up your pants.
The most difficult Fish to ignore might be his black skull/bunny patterned shower curtain -- though with you being nude and slippery, if this particular Art does grope you, you were probably asking for it.
