Just One Plate

The notion of cooking's made even more far-fetched by having to sort through billions of recipes from millions of dubious sources. When your spatula does start to itch, check out Just One Plate instead.

Each week, JOP offers a single dish from a top restaurant, chosen by the founding trio of power-lunching entertainment-industry types (whose jobs miraculously haven't whited out their appetites). Each set of steps/ingredients is abetted by a stunning, magazine-ready photo -- so beautiful, it'll make your completed version insecure enough to demand breast enhancements. Already posted are four tasty wallet-busters: Grace's Thai Lobster Soup, Fraiche's Beet Salad, Sona's Tuna Au Poivre, and Ludo Bites' Black Croque-Monsieur Foie Gras -- the mere preparation of which will cause Blue Shield to send you a treadmill.

Following each dish is an Inside-The-Actors'-Studio-type interview with the chef who conceived it -- though if we're being honest, the only thing more far-fetched than cooking is caring what other people think.
