The most exciting week of the year (besides the one with sharks on TV) returns when NYC chefs honor Southeast Asian cuisine with June 13th -19th's Malaysian Restaurant Week -- upstaging the great white, who isn't half as tasty as Beef Rendang.
The second annual weeklong celebration features New York's finest Malaysian restos serving up custom-crafted three-course meals for the Kuala Lum-perfect price of $20.11. On top of that, many more high-profile pan-Asian spots will jump in with Malaysian-inspired two-course menus at varying price points loaded with traditional dishes like Murtabak, a meal your date will enjoy even if she claims she ain't no Murtabak girl. More offerings from the melting pot of flavors include Nasi Lemak, Satay, and Curry Mee, also a blackjack command that ends with you licking your cards clean.
