Loads of great artists throughout history have had something a little bit off in their head, or fully off, in the case of Van Gogh. For an artist not afraid to tell you he's a little strange, except maybe in person if you're looking him in the eye: Chris O'Neill.
Describing himself as an "all-around awkward" dude, this VT-born, Brighton- based illustrator puts his "obsessive compulsion with drawing things" to good use, inking a tight assemblage of bold comic prints, and even sketches of "nekkid" chicks -- ne-kidding!
Eye-catching works include:
An Awkward Moment: An unhappy, flannel-clad hipster couple sit across from each other and look uncomfortable, so it's a commentary on either the difficulty of relationships or the itchiness of breaking in a new flannel.
I Fall To Pieces: Of the aforementioned boobtastic ones, this rocks a feather-toting, beer-drinking "sexy sci-fi space girl" with a boombox loudly blasting Patsy Cline -- a din that finally explains why in space, no one can hear you scream.
girls! girls! girls!: Again with the nudity, this was inspired by a vintage burlesque print ad, and shows a dancer slowly removing her fishnets above the words "Tonight! Live Nude Girls" -- wait, no! Chris come back! It's not plans, just a description of your artwork!
